It’s finally reveal time! When I think of this finished dining room, I think of one thing.
I hate wallpaper. No, I love it, but I hate OLD wallpaper that does NOT come off the walls. Case in point, we had to SAND THE WALLS. I think I cried once or twice doing it. It was awful. Looking back, I would have rather torn off those walls and replaced them with new drywall.
Now that, that nightmare is over, I can sip on my pinot grigio and pretend none of that even happened.
The first line of business was ripping up all the carpet and refinishing the floors. We had a great company come out and do the job flawlessly.
I added paneling to the walls and ceiling trim to give the illusion that the ceilings are much taller than they are. Another tip is to paint the wall color up to the ceiling trim.
Each room has a showstopper. For this room, it is the paint color. I went with DEBONAIR by Sherwin Williams.
