The #FreshSpaceFebruary entry way project has come to a close! Before I go on with what we did in this space, be sure to check out the other participants listed below!
Hi there! If this is your first time visiting our blog, then welcome! My name is Inna, and my husband and I recently opened our design and contracting company called Kovalinskiy Design. It all started some years back when we designed and built our first home and then went on to renovate an old colonial from top to bottom. Be sure to check out the completed projects tab to see some of our most dramatic before and afters!
A few months ago we started on this project by ripping up the old carpet, flushing the walkways, refinishing the floors, and adding a fresh new coat of paint.
Even with all of that work, it still felt bland and boring. This design challenge with the #FreshSpaceFebruary ladies allowed me to add some much-needed character and life to an otherwise dull entryway.
Trim, wallpaper, paintings, and a stair runner with brass rods seemed like the perfect pops of personality this small space needed.
First, to make an appearance was the toile Wallpaper sent by Wallpaper Direct. I installed the wallpaper into the panel boxes, giving a very subtle hint of French while tying in with the adjoining blue dining room.
The bamboo table and brass key holder were both thrifted.
Adding the wallpaper into the panels gave the space a more custom feel without overwhelming the room.
To add even more character, I went with these Stair Rods to complete the look of the stairs.
My favorite Moravian Star Light Fixture completed the space with its pretty frosted glass and brass metal.
And of course, the Albert and Dash runner added some subtle hints of blue to tie-in with the rest of the home,
With everything said and done, I am very happy with the personality of the space and the way it all ties together as a whole with the rest of the home!
